Cruel Massacre of Fatimid caliphate:

The Fatimid 8th Caliph Aaj Zahir was as ruthless and cruel as his father Al-Hakim, as he was luxurious, comfortable, and danced. Day after day his luxurious life would be cut short by melody and dance. However, the shocking and brutal massacre carried out by the Caliph Zahir in 424 AH surpasses many of the earlier atrocities of the world. Once the caliph organized a joyous feast. And to make this joyous atmosphere enjoyable with dance songs, 260 girls were invited. They were gathered in a mosque to have a feast, all the doors and windows were made of bricks and walls, and the unfortunate girls were kept inside the mosque and killed without being allowed to eat. This is just an example of the cruelty of the caliph. A man named Bani Adam was buried alive in a mosque. The mosque has not been opened for six long months. After this brutal massacre, the Caliph Zahir also died of the plague in 1038 AD in 426 AH.

Strict attitude towards the Maliki and Shafi'is:

In 418 AH or 1025 AD, the Caliph today became very angry with the followers of the Maliki school of Egypt and issued a cruel and ruthless edict. The great scholars, hadith scholars, and jurists of this school were expelled from Egypt. The study of books in the Maliki school is forbidden. In the upper part of Egypt, which is divided into two parts, there was a majority of Sunni Muslims belonging to the Maliki school and in the lower part, the Shafi'i school. But the Fatimids did not have a flexible attitude towards any madhhab but adopted the policy of introducing Shia doctrine or madhhab in Egypt through the use of force. The laws of Imam Zafar As-Sadiq were declared valid. The effectiveness of other Sunni laws is abolished.
